Read more about Ricochet Rooster:

Ricochet Rooster’s winning career began in 2000 when Todd Bergen, the well-known American trainer, took him to Oklahoma City to participate in the NRHA Open Futurity. The duo immediately made headlines by taking home the Open Reserve Champion title and winnings of $96,357. The young stallion thus begins the climb towards first place in the ranking reserved for the sons of the famous stud, Gallo del Cielo (Rooster).

Immediately after placing in the NRHA Futurity, due to an injury, Ricochet Rooster is forced to remain out of action for a year, but his trainer, Bergen, firmly believes in his possibilities and once healed, gradually puts him back to work in view of the important races that will take place in 2002. “He’s a horse with a big heart and great athletic ability,” Todd says of him. “In addition to giving immense satisfaction in the race, he is a fun horse, very sweet and easy to manage.”

In May 2002, Todd and Ricochet Rooster returned to the scene and this time, with a score of 222, they took third place in the prestigious NRHA Derby Open. A few months later, in Katy, Texas, the pair took part in the National Reiners Breeders Classic Open, and here too Ricochet Rooster left his mark, taking third place in the ranking having obtained a score of 222.

At this point in his career, Ricochet Rooster finds himself at the top of the ranking reserved for the sons of Gallo del Cielo in terms of winnings. Gallo del Cielo has in fact produced sons who have won over one million one hundred thousand dollars in their careers and Ricochet Rooster, at just five years old, has contributed significantly to increasing this figur

Today Ricochet Rooster is in Italy thanks to its owner, Manuel Bonzano who has always believed in its potential not only on a competitive level but also, and above all, on a reproductive level.

The Italian breeding farm today counts Ricochet Rooster among its ‘Sires’, a stallion who has certainly established himself in Italian breeding history.
